Get Involved!
At the beginning of each semester Texas Hillel hosts several programs to welcome students back to campus. Texas Hillel provides a variety of venues, like our annual Labor Day BBQ, where students come to meet student leaders, sign-up for various committees, meet other interested students and find out about what Texas Hillel has to offer. Students join Texas Hillel projects and organizations throughout the year and many students even propose their own programs, with Texas Hillel providing the structure and support to make them happen.

All students are welcome at Hillel-sponsored activities. Hillel is not a membership organization. If you are a Jewish student in the Austin area, you already “belong.” We use the information you provide to let you know about specific activities that you may be interested in.

Leadership Opportunities
Texas Hillel offers opportunities for various levels of leadership experience, from the Executive Cabinet to volunteering on a specific program, project, or event. Take charge of one of our various program options or create your own, be on a committee for one (or more) of our student groups, join a planning meeting and make your voice heard, volunteer to help out with an event or program, be a student intern, or just be involved. It’s up to you.
The five-member student Executive Cabinet works with a variety of committee chairs and the leaders of all groups and programs within Texas Hillel to shape Jewish student life on campus. Executive Cabinet members can help you make your ideas happen or find a way to get involved at Texas Hillel. They also represent the Jewish student body on Texas Hillel’s Board of Directors. Student Organizations and Committee Chairs
The process for filling these leadership positions varies by group or committee. If you’re interested in becoming a leader, contact Margo.
Internships
Texas Hillel offers a number of internship opportunities where students can develop and refine professional skills under professional supervision. Interns are required to work 8 to 10 hours a week and receive a stipend of $500 per semester. To learn more about any of these contact Margo.
Got a Great Idea? Make it Happen!
You’ve got a great idea for a project. Now what? Let Texas Hillel make your idea become a reality! Even if you don’t consider your program to be “Jewish,” Texas Hillel may be willing to give it a try!
Click here to fill out a program proposal and submit it or bring it by Texas Hillel. After your program, don’t forget to fill out a program evaluation. If you have any questions or want to talk about your ideas, get in touch with anyone on the Executive Cabinet or get in touch with Margo.
