Shabbat at Texas Hillel

shabbatcrowd

Shabbat at Texas Hillel is one of the events that our students, alumni, community members, and stake holders hold as some of their favorite moments and memories.  You never know what you’ll find at a Shabbat dinner, what you’ll experience during services, or who you’ll meet.

We ask that if you are planning to attend the dinner portion of the evening that you RSVP by the Tuesday prior by 5:00 PM in order that we may be prepared, but not wasteful, when it comes to our home made food.  (You may still attend if you do not RSVP, but…it would be nice to know that you’re coming ahead of time…just saying. )

Shabbat can be FREE for those students who RSVP with help of Shabbat sponsors.

To sponsor a Shabbat (various levels available), please click here or email Rabbi Komerofsky.

.

Shabbat for September 10th is generously sponsored by Rosalie and Billy Goldberg Endowment Fund of the B’nai B’rith Foundation of the U.S.

Dinner is FREE for students who RSVP by 5:00PM on Tuesday, September 6th.

For those who do not RSVP, it will be $5 at the door.

WHAT’S THE DEAL WITH SHABBAT DINNER?
$5 per person
(Texas Hillel subsidizes the actual cost of $13)
Unless… Shabbat dinner is sponsored and you RSVP by Tuesday at 5:00 PM.
Then you are our guest with no charge.
So what should you do?
RSVP every week by Tuesday at 5:00PM. (There’s a reminder in our weekly e-newsletter).
If Shabbat is sponsored, you pay nothing if you RSVP’d!
Check the website to see if Shabbat is sponsored and by whom.
Why do we ask for RSVP’s?
Texas Hillel pays Ecstatic Cuisine (our caterer) for every meal.
RSVP’s allow us to plan responsibly so that we have enough for everyone without
wasting food or money.
