Jewish Learning Fellowship

Ideas that Move: The Jewish Learning Fellowship aims to provide a semester of intellectual and experiential learning for students looking to deepen their understanding of Judaism.

Registration for Fall 2010 is now open! Click here!

The program will run throughout the semester.  The program this year will begin in October after all of the High Holidays and will conclude before Winter break.  Selection is based on an applicant’s expressed desire to benefit personally and Jewishly from the program.

The Fellowship is designed and led by Rabbi Moshe Trepp of Texas Hillel with assistance from the Afikim Foundation. The weekly sessions consist of a dynamic, text-based lecture where Fellows can pursue a pre-selected topic of their interest.

Requirements:

A $300 scholarship from the Afikim Foundation, for future study or Israel travel, will be awarded upon fulfillment of these requirements:

    • Attendance at all 10 sessions
    • Participation in a Shabbat experience
    • An end of semester reflection paper
    • A final project where each student presents to his/her peers for 2-3 minutes on an idea they’ve learned over the course of the Fellowship.
    • A brief application explaining how the scholarship will be applied for future study or Israel travel.

JLX – Jewish Learning Extended!

Students are encouraged to meet with one of our rabbis or educators on their own time! Learning is provided outside the fellowship time slots.
