Texans For Israel
Recognized as the best political/activist organization at one of America’s largest universities, Texans For Israel (TFI) serves as a forum for students who share a common interest in israel and a strong, mutually-beneficial U.S.-Israel relationship. Since its inception is 1991, TFI has become a means to exchange ideas, experiences, and information about Israel, Middle East politics and culture, and Zionist interests.
TFI works closely with nationally and internationally recognized pro-Israel organizations including Hamagshimim and the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC). TFI also maintains close relationships with Members of Congress, state and local officials, University faculty and staff, various campus student organizations, and the Israeli Consulate in Houston.
Members of Texans For Israel plan and implement the Israel Block Party, Texas Hillel’s largest program of the year. Regularly drawing thousands of students and community leaders, IBP is a community-wide fair with interactive booths, exhibits, displays, food, and activities celebrating Israeli culture and accomplishments in the fields of technology, medicine, agriculture, the arts, and much more.
Texans for Israel does not receive financial assistance from any local, state, or national pro-Israel group. It is solely funded by Texas Hillel and TFI’s programs, activities, events, and speakers are all student initiated.
