Community
We at Texas Hillel realize the challenges that await us as we prepare our students to enter the Jewish community as new activists…the future lies with them.
That said, you should be encouraged by what is happening at Texas Hillel, where the “farm team” of tomorrow’s leaders are being cultivated today. Participants in our award-winning programs such as Texans For Israel (TFI) and The White Rose Society are poised to become tomorrow’s leaders in organizations such as the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) and the Anti-Defamation League (ADL). The students who lead weekly Reform, Conservative, and Orthodox services – which draw over 150 students each week – are going on to become tomorrow’s rabbis, cantors, and synagogue presidents. The list goes on and on.
Today, Texas Hillel is so much more than simply a home for Jewish students at UT. It is an opportunity for our students to hone their skills and learn how they can fulfill the mitzvot of Tikkun Olam (healing the world) and G’milut Chasadim (acts of loving kindness). Throughout this website you will see many of Texas Hillel’s outstanding programs and you will learn how your financial gift to Texas Hillel is both an investment in our students and a way to make a real difference in shaping the lives of those who will take the helm of leadership in the years to come.
We know the challenges that lie before our students and we help them face the immense responsibilities that come with taking up the mantle of leadership. However, we need your continued financial support not only to sustain, but also to enhance, all that we do.
Please feel free to stop by Texas Hillel when you are in the neighborhood so we can show you around. Whether you would like to join us for Shabbat services and dinner or simply see the many projects with which we are involved, you will not be disappointed.
